Our new comic for the New York Times!

Eight years ago, illustrator Michael Sloan and I worked together on a New York Times series about a family of Syrian refugees that went on to win the Pulitzer Prize. Now we’ve reunited for a new series — this time about a Honduran family living in New York City and struggling to avoid deportation. The story centers on a 17-year-old boy named Matteo who’s coming of age in the era of ICE roundups. It’s based on Matteo’s real journal entries, firsthand reporting, and legal documents — and it’s unfolding in real time in The New York Times. I hope you’ll check it out — and I hope it stays with you. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/10/21/opinion/immigration-family-separation.html
